Rosalind Hall is a saxophonist, improviser and composer working with a wide range of sound sources and approaches to music making. Rosalind has developed a unique sonic language by making modifications to the saxophone that radically changes the sound of and approach to the instrument. Rosalind has also been developing speaker sculptures which use vibrational feedback to create sound and movement. These sculptures were developed and shown as part of a three week residency with Dale Gorfinkel and Alan Lamb at Dwelling up Arts Lab, WA in 2008.
Rosalind’s current collaborations include a live audiovisual duo with video artist Marco Cher-Gibard, improvising duo with instrument builder and vibraphonist, Dale Gorfinkel, marching street band Havana Palava and improvising groove band The Prophets. Rosalind is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sound Art at RMIT. She is a founding member of Melbourne based audiovisual collective, Stream.
