Brown White Blue Pink 4 channel installation based on four colors of noise: brown, white, blue and pink. Four hues of noise (brown, white, blue and pink) comprise the source material for the audio installation Brown White Blue Pink. These colors of noise are analogous to the different spectrums of light, with white noise containing an equal distribution of energy spread over all frequencies. Brown, blue and pink noise emhasize different frequency spectrums. Projected into an acoustical space over 40 two-inch loudspeakers, the different colors of noise highlight and interfere with the inherent resonant room frequencies. Amplified at a relatively low volume level matched to ambient sound levels of the installation space, the noise serves to emphasize different spatial characteristics of the space.
