12-2pm
Tape Projects Space- 1/81 Bouverie St Carlton (above Bridgestone)

Forum chair: Caleb Kelly
Panel members: Nat Bates, Jon Dale, Annalee Koernig, and Philip Samartzis.

Amidst Saturday afternoon festival events, Stated Sound will delve into a discussion of the attitudes and concepts that inform our experience of sound and media cultures.

Chaired by Dr Caleb Kelly (Sydney College of the Arts, impermanent.audio, What is Music?, and MIT Press), the discussion will draw on the experience of Liquid Architectures key Artistic Director Nat Bates, Jon Dale a writer and music journalist for Signal to Noise and The Wire, the organiser of Horse Bazaar Annalee Koernig, and Dr Philip Samartzis, artist and senior lecturer in sound at RMIT.

'Stated Sound' will investigate how the decisions made in organising sound and media cultures resonate with contemporary contexts and audiences, with a focus on how to develop futures for these cultures.

Free beverage and light food will be provided and all are welcome to what will be a relevant and insightful discussion.
