Reigniting our Ritual Community Music concert series, Liquid Architecture presents rare performances by CS + Kreme and YL Hooi, with Moopie (DJ) on Winter’s penultimate weekend, at Meat Market Pavilion.
Circling bodies.
Hallucinatory sounds.
Luxury system.
CS + Kreme is the name Conrad Standish and Sam Karmel give their deeply romantic and stealthily addictive music, characterised by heavy dub processing and sweeping post-punk, anchored by Standish's leftfield bass and Karmel’s skewiff electronics. You will know their acclimated releases, including last year’s wildly/widely loved Snoopy LP on Trilogy Tapes. Self-described ‘horizontal-music’.
YL Hooi’s FX-drenched atmospherics, DIY minimalism, and nang chamber dub will conjure sonic apparitions to spiral up into the Pavilion’s high ceilings and dark corners. Hear her ‘Untitled’ on Efficient Space for evidence. Featuring alleged fellow Kallista Kult member Tarquin Manek (LST, M. Quake) on various instruments and moves.
Before, between, again and again, Moopie weaves far histories of electronic music into contemporary cuts. Sweetheart, DJ, A Colourful Storm label boss; the relentless-restless-endless.
