Ari Tampubolon

Julieta Aranda was born in 1975 in Mexico City. She received a BFA in filmmaking from the School of Visual Arts (2001) and an MFA from Columbia University (2006), both in New York. Her explorations span installation, video, and print media, with a special interest in the creation and manipulation of artistic exchange and the subversion of traditional notions of commerce through art making. In addition to her own artistic practice Aranda is known as the co-founder of e-flux (est. 1998): a publishing platform and archive, artist project, curatorial platform and enterprise.

Her projects are often conversational and collaborative, and resist spectatorship by inviting audiences into sensorial readings of artworks. Fayen advocates the radical potential for blindness, arguing that blindness offers critical positions and methods attuned to sensory translations, ephemerality, the tangible and the intangible, concealment, uncertainty, the precarious, and the invisible. With artist Katie West, Fayen co-founded the Museum Incognita, which revisits neglected or obscured histories through scores that activate embodied readings. Fayen is also the founder of 3-ply, which investigates artist-led publishing as an experimental site for the creation, dispersal, translation, and archiving of texts.

Hoang Tran Nguyen is an artist working in social practice to address overlapping cultural histories, politics of place and the role of the art-worker. His work has featured in self-initiated projects (Bilo Artspace, fauxPho), arts festivals (Due West, Big West, Next Wave) and galleries (Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Buxton Contemporary, The Substation). He is currently a PhD candidate at the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne).

Public Assembly is collaboration between Lynda Roberts and Ceri Hann. We are a socially engaged practice working at the intersection between art and design. Established in 2007, Public Assembly acts as a creative laboratory, generating ideas through action. Our practice is driven by our desire to enable others with skills and inspiration to creatively engage with their immediate environment. We work towards this by devising participatory workshops and immersive art installations.
