Liquid Architecture presents Inter.Sonix 06.
For our 6th and final edition of the Inter.Sonix series for 2025, Liquid Architecture invites the legendary Footwork pioneer RP Boo alongside Rani Jambak (IND), SOVBLKPSSY (AUS), Will Guthrie (FRA/AUS), Hayden Ryan (AUS) and the local diaspora collective Thread DJ’s.
RP Boo – a.k.a. Kavain Space is revered and respected amongst the dance music cognoscenti. He’s cited as one of the originators of Footwork, the fast, repetitive, rhythmically syncopated music & dance style that’s a grandchild of Chicago house and which has been brought to the wider world via releases from Planet Mu and others, alongside internet archaeology from fans, experts and enthusiasts.
Programme:
RP Boo (USA)
From the Planet Mu cohort, RP Boo anchors the programme, his pioneering footwork grammar fracturing rhythm and reconfiguring movement and intensity on the dancefloor.
SOVBLKPSSY (AUS)
Bass-leaning club tracks creating a framework for the dancefloor.
Will Guthrie (FRA/AUS)
Performing on solo drum kit, exploring contraction and expansion, temporal elasticity, and finely wrought polyrhythmic tension in an improvisational language with his trademark dynamics and immediacy.
Rani Jambak (IND)
Presenting a live iteration of her work Vibra Genetika (Yes No Wave), featuring field recordings of rural landscapes with digitally altered Minangkabau instruments, producing a club idiom rooted in place and memory.
Hayden Ryan (AUS)
Max/MSP driven digital ecologies, sonic structures emerging and dissolving in real time.
Thread DJs (AUS)
Interstitial selective display of significant recorded music.
