Recent work looks to Irish language, folklore and family stories to consider ways and tools for acting responsibly under the intersecting forces of settler-colonialism, climate collapse and capitalism.

Chikchika (formerly Music Yared) features Haftu Reda and Anbessa Gebrehiwot originally from the Tigray region of Ethiopia with renowned Oromo singer, Mulu Bekele. 

Singing about love, distance, separation and culture, their songs are accompanied by the traditional instruments of krar (5-string lyre) and masinko (single-string violin). Completing the band for this performance are Dale Gorfinkel on percussion and bass and Tawanda Gadzikwa on drums.

With a focus on their East African cultural heritage, Chikchika embraces new sonic territories with a beautiful modesty, camaraderie and a deep groove.

Geoff Robinson is a Melbourne-based artist working on Wurundjeri country. Robinson creates event-based artworks that utilise the temporal qualities of sound and performance and the spatial conditions of physical sites to unravel the durational layers of place.
