Carmen-Sibha Keiso is an Arab multimedia artist and curator working in performance, video, and text. Their practice functions as a reflexive mise-en-scène, wherein current socio-political and global cultural industries are fused with the semantics of social performativity. 

Chiming millennial diaspora with contemporary cultural trends as an attempt to divulge the way in which we analyse the self within these spheres. Keiso employs a socially-collaborative and research based process, wherein they direct a form of 'theatre' involving practitioners from a multitude of disciplines.

Keiso directs ‘Read the Room’, an expanded literary practice space that hosts writing workshops, lectures, screenings, readings and exhibitions in Melbourne. In addition to the release of a feature length film in 2018, Keiso has sustained a documentative film practice, collaborating with local talent in releasing ‘MeowTV’ and the upcoming ‘WetBody Tour’. Keiso presented a lecture as part of the Writing & Concepts 2019 series at SIGNAL artspace and recently completed a directing course at HB Studios in NYC, alongside a mentorship with artist Keren Cytter as part of a professional development opportunity funded by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust. 

Keiso is currently working under renowned minimalist filmmaker and composer Phill Niblock and is undergoing an emerging writers grant that will be published in the fall by Montez Press UK.

Gian Manik is a Naarm-based artist whose dextrous approach to image-making is characterised by an irreverence for genre and driven by a compulsion to paint. Interested in undermining the colonial properties arming the buttresses of historical painting, Manik ambiguates tradition through the representation of multivalent or tangential subjects.

As part of Polyphonic Social 2017, Hi God People will perform a new work, Running Bathing Singing With The Hi God People, which they say will involve “bathing each other while dressed in sleepwear, wetting the sleepwear in the process”. How this will be done is yet to be precisely realised, but the group agree “it might be better to do this outside”. Hi God People are a sound and performance group from Melbourne, Australia. Since the late 90s, Hi God People spontaneously assemble out of the indie music and art scenes of Melbourne to do things... Nick Ashwood is a composer and performer of contemporary experimental music from Nipaluna/Tasmania, now based in Naarm/Melbourne. Nick's practice explores the possibilities of the steel-string acoustic through means of just intonation, preparations, bowing and harmonic space. Nick has had the opportunities to perform and recorded with a diverse array of artists from all over the world such as Laura Altman, Jim Denley, Robbie Avenaim, Annette Krebs, Amanda Stewart, Splinter Orchestra, Cor Fuhler and Chris Abrahams, amongst others. Nick is part of a number of ongoing groups 180º with Jim Denley and Amanda Stewart, The Splinter Orchestra, Duo with Laura Altman and newly formed group ACDA with Chris Abrahams, Jim Denley and Romy Caen. Aviva Endean is an artist dedicated to fostering a deep engagement with (and care for) sound and music, with the hope that attentive listening can connect people with each other and their environment. She is active as a clarinetist, composer, improviser, curator, sound artist, performance-maker and collaborator. Aviva regularly works across a range of contexts including experimental and improvised music, new chamber music, creating theatre works which are designed to be listened to, and working on cross-disciplinary collaborations.
