Liquid Architecture is ecstatic to support the Nongkrong 2026 'Gerhana' program.
At The Dome of Mission to Seafarers, Gerhana presents three live acts that bring visibility to the invisible architecture of time, ancestry, loss, and continuity through sound. This event invites you to make collective noise, and listen to the experimental sounds of the diaspora.
The Dome becomes with Ria and Keshav where you will be invited to join a spontaneous communal processional to open the evening performances - inspired by traditional rituals of dispelling and confusing negative spirits by making sound, and restoring balance in the world. Ria will assemble an eclectic mix of her bespoke percussion instruments, frog buzzers and rattles.
Following that, Sundialll are a contemporary music group based in Taipei and Bandung. Their process begins with deconstructing rhyme, rhythm, and noise, drawing inspiration from their roots and folklore. You’ll immersed in the dome space with the sounds of dark modular synthesizers, combined with live instrumentation, percussive sounds, and meditative vocal chanting
Finally, Excited State!!! is a project led by DJ and curator Kavil Patel, in collaboration with powerhouse drummers Rama Parwata (KILAT, Whitehorse and Rinuwat) and Rohan Rebeiro (MY DISCO). In play, the the trio explores the potential of recorded music and possibilities for its improvisation, invocation and collapse. The sound of Excited State!!! is loosely rooted in the language of drum ’n bass, but all else is spare, unstable, and in constant motion.
