The evening brings together a panel conversation with MzRizk (Habibi Hafla), Kerfew Collective, and Matisse (We Eatin’ Good Bitches), exploring how BIPOC/queer spaces and nightlife foster community, solidarity, and creative freedom in Naarm.
Drawing on Amin Ghaziani’s Long Live Queer Nightlife, the panel reflects on the liberatory and expansive possibilities of queer nightlife, and the long-term impact of these gatherings.
Performances by Ari Angkasa and Enter complement the conversation, creating a sonic and lexical polyphony that celebrates community-centered practice in Merri-Bek.
The night also features a special podcast launch by Shareeka Helaluddin, weaving together sonic discourses, interventions, and responses produced through this ongoing project since 2024.
Special poetry reading by Parminder Kaur Bhandal
Food is provided by Beit Siti, bringing warmth and connection to the evening. The program reflects the experiences of temporary migrants, like Aziz, who are building home-making practices in Coburg, as well as the broader communities of the performers and participants.
