The 23 years old West Papuan producer Asep Nayak has been redefining the local ritualistic Wisisi music using a cracked FL Studio of his home region Wamena. The fast-paced and heavy pumping beat version became a new local darling played in community parties from backyards, jungles, schools, churches, public transports, traditional markets, football terraces, to art festivals. Like many other Wisisi music producers, he released his works on YouTube and shared them using bluetooth phones. He performed for the first time at the Biennale Jogja in Yogyakarta 2021, followed with successful shows at Ravepasar Bali and Pestapora Jakarta in 2022, and at CTM Festival Berlin in 2023. His first full-length audio-only album released by Yes No Wave Music in 2023.

Kelman Duran is a Dominican/American musician, and visual artist.

Duran started taking music seriously when he moved to Los Angeles. Born and raised in New York City, Duran graduated from LaGuardia and moved to South Korea before studying at CalArts.

As a DJ and producer, he is mostly affiliated with LA’s Rail Up crew, HUNDEBISS Records in Milan, and Riobamba’s Apocalipsis label, who also recently put out his album, 13th Month. The creation of the record was inspired by indigenous moon cycles that Duran learned about while living on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, where he shot a documentary titled To the North.

While he sees his music as a purely emotional counterpart to his visual arts and film work, his artistic and scholarly interests focus on issues of racism, police brutality, and the interplay between disenfranchised groups and civil architecture.
